The Smart Biohome team has recently returned from the World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED), one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to the energy transition and climate neutrality. Held from February 24 to 27, 2026, at Stadthalle Wels, Austria, this flagship conference brought together more than 650 experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals from over 60 countries to discuss cutting-edge solutions for sustainable energy.

We were proud to actively participate and present BIOPLACE (www.bioplace.biz), our innovative IoT-connected bioenergy marketplace, designed to transform the way sustainable biomass products—such as wood pellets, briquettes, wood chips, and other bioenergy feedstocks—are traded, traced, and optimized.

During the event, visitors to our booth had the opportunity to:

• Discover the platform’s real-time monitoring capabilities and IoT integration for smarter, more transparent biomass transactions
• Explore how BIOPLACE supports local biomass valorization, reduces logistics emissions, and aligns with EU Green Deal priorities

The timing could not have been better: just before the WSED, EU Business News named Smart Biohome the winner of the Spanish Business Awards 2026 for our innovative green technology marketplace solution, BIOPLACE. This recognition highlights the platform’s role in fostering sustainable bioenergy markets through innovation, traceability, and efficiency.

The feedback and connections established at the WSED were truly inspiring. Conversations with pellet producers, energy communities, industrial stakeholders, and policy experts confirmed the growing demand for digital tools like BIOPLACE to make bioenergy more accessible, competitive, and climate-friendly.
