The team from Smart Biohome has recently returned from the World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED), one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to energy transition and climate neutrality. Held from February 24 to 27, 2026 at Stadthalle Wels, Austria, this landmark conference brought together over 650 experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals from more than 60 countries to discuss cutting-edge solutions for sustainable energy.

We were proud to actively participate and present BIOPLACE (www.bioplace.biz), our innovative IoT-connected bioenergy marketplace, designed to transform the way sustainable biomass products—such as wood pellets, briquettes, wood chips, and other bioenergy feedstocks—are traded, traced, and optimized.

During the event, visitors to our booth had the opportunity to:

The timing could not have been better: just before WSED, EU Business News named Smart Biohome a winner of the Spanish Business Awards 2026 for our pioneering green technology marketplace solution, BIOPLACE. This recognition highlights the platform’s role in driving sustainable bioenergy markets through innovation, traceability, and efficiency.

The feedback and connections made at the WSED were truly inspiring. Conversations with pellet producers, energy communities, industrial stakeholders, and policy experts confirmed the growing demand for digital tools like BIOPLACE to make bioenergy more accessible, competitive, and climate-friendly.
